- Description
Our client is a specialist ground engineering company with contracts throughout the UK. They are a growing company with a turnover in the region of £8-10 million. They put emphasis on the value not only of their clients, but more importantly their employees. The nature of their business includes earthworks, retaining structures, dynamic compaction, soil stabilisation, wick drainage, stone columns, soil remediation and materials reprocessing.
They currently have the opportunity for an Earthworks / Surveying Engineer / Land Surveyor to join their team. The successful applicant will be working as part of a team; however they will be expected to manage their own workload in order to aid the efficiency of the rest of the team.
Previous experience with an earthworks sub-contractor is preferred.
The position will be based on sites all over the UK, so applicants should expect to be away from home Monday-Friday. The company will pay a daily lodgings allowance and business mileage at the approved HMRC rates.
Duties will include:
- Surveying of earthworks operations for measurement purposes.
- Calculation earthworks volumes for valuation and programme and submission to commercial department.
- Processing of design models for machine control GPS application.
- Quality control of surveying and machine control equipment.
- Setting out of minor earthworks operations where machine control cannot be utilised.
- Providing engineering council to project manager and works manager.
- Supervision of sub-contractors.
- Supervision of site health and safety alongside PM and WM.
- Checking of drawings and specifications to ensure all information is up to date.
- Resolving any unexpected technical difficulties.

Remuneration:
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
You must have a full UK valid driving licence.
