- Our client is a leading independent consultancy, predominantly providing a Project Management Service in land, waste and water. They offer specialist advice and project management services across a number of key sectors, including banking, commercial and industrial property developers. Their technical advice helps their clients manage liability, realise true asset values and minimise costs.
They currently have the opportunity for a Site Supervisor / Site Engineer to join them for a site based position on a 600 acre brownfield development at Bridgewater. Initially it is likely to be on a 2 year contract with options to extend, or if it is of interest to both parties, to take permanent employment with our Client from one of their offices.
Responsibilities:
The role will involve overseeing the verification and quality of the works being undertaken by a Remediation Contractor to satisfy the planning conditions and surrender of the sites explosive licence. The Site Supervisor will collate and manage the data generated by the remediation contractor using a GIS system. They will act as the eyes and ears for the site’s owner on a day to day basis. The position will be supported by a Project Manager who will likely attend site 1-2 days a week and will provide technical guidance as required.
Given the nature of the position with earth works, land surveying, technical water / soil treatment the role would potentially suit Candidates from a number of backgrounds. We are particularly interested to hear from candidates with geotechnical / civil engineering backgrounds as this could be useful as the site’s development progresses over the coming years.
Candidates will ideally be:- Degree qualified (Geology, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, or similar discipline).
- Recent graduate - 2 years’ industry previous experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Confident in speaking to and working with clients, colleagues and third party contractors.
- Some commercial awareness.
Remuneration:
Remuneration will be commensurate with experience.
